Hottentot-fig has showy magenta or yellow flowers up to 10cm across. The plant has thick fleshy triangular-shaped leaves for withstanding dry conditions, and grows on cliffs and sand dunes in the South-west of England. It was originally introduced from South Africa and is now naturalised.
