Arrowhead is an aquatic plant of muddy and slow-moving fresh waters, such as marshes and ditches.
It has arrow-shaped leaves which are held erect above the water, and may also have floating
or submerged lanceolate leaves.
The flowers are arranged in a raceme, with the lower flowers being female
and the upper ones male.
The flowers have 3 white petals with a purple spot at their base.
