Touch-me-not Balsam is a locally frequent plant of damp woods and riverbanks,
more commonly found in the North of England.
Like the other balsams, it spreads its seed via explosive capsules, and can clog up streams.
This species has yellow petals with small red-brown spots,
with the spur at the back of the flower tapering and then gradually curving.
It is similar to Orange Balsam
(Impatiens capensis), which has orange flowers with red spots
and a more curved spur.
