Perforate St John's-wort is a summer-flowering erect plant of dry grasslands and scrub.
The five yellow petals have black dots around their edges, and the leaves are covered in translucent dots
(hence the "Perforate" part of its name).
Imperforate St John's-wort is a similar plant, whose leaves do not
have the translucent dots.
