| Tall Melilot (Golden Melilot) | Pea family |
| Melilotus altissimus | Leguminosae (Fabaceae) |
Tall (or Golden) Melilot is a tall plant of waste ground and arable land.
It used to be grown as a fodder crop.
It is very similar to Ribbed Melilot (Melilotus officinalis):
the differences are
that the Tall Melilot has all its petals of the same length (the keel petals are shorter
than the others on the Ribbed Melilot), its seeds are black when ripe,
and its upper leaflets are almost parallel-sided.
