| Spring Squill | Lily family |
| Scilla verna | Liliaceae |
Spring squill is found on grassy coastal areas on the west side of Britain. It has between 2 and 12 pale blue flowers in an erect cluster, and each flower has a bract which is longer than the flower stalk. The long thin leaves appear in spring, before the flowers, which peak in May. A similar rarer flower which appears later in the year is Autumn squill.
