A low-growing perennial of moors, heaths and bogs. The name "lousewort" refers to
the lice which can infest animals in the wet pastures in which the plant grows.
A similar plant is Marsh Lousewort, which
is taller, has a single branched stem, and grows in damp acidic conditions.
