Alpine Bistort is an uncommon flower of mountain grassland in northern Britain. It has white or pale pink flowers on slender spikes, but the lower part of the spike contains bulbils which are used for vegetative propagation. It has narrow leaves, with the larger lower ones having stalks and the upper stem leaves being unstalked.
