Goldenrod Daisy family
Solidago virgaurea Asteraceae (Compositae)

The wild Goldenrod grows in open acidic locations and on rocky ground. It is very variable in height, ranging from 5 to 70cm tall, according to its location. The flowers are up to 1cm across, with up to a dozen ray florets.
It is distinct from the Canadian Goldenrod grown in gardens, which are taller and have much smaller flowers in dense clusters.
