| Colt's-foot | Daisy family |
| Tussilago farfara | Asteraceae (Compositae) |
Coltsfoot flowers in early spring, with the flowers appearing before the leaves.
It often grows on bare soil, colonizing it rapidly by means of its spreading rhizomes.
After flowering, the flower head droops, then the stalk increases in length and the
flower head becomes erect again once the fruits are ripe.
