Friends of Farnham Park

Working with Waverley to keep the Park a beautiful place for all to enjoy

The Friends of Farnham Park are a group of like-minded people who appreciate the simple pleasures of Farnham Park and who want everybody to be able to continue to enjoy them into the future.

We liaise closely with, and support, the Waverley Countryside Management team in preserving the character of this wonderful local amenity.

Many of our activities are open to everybody and most are free.
They include:
  • Keeping our members informed
  • Interpretive walks
  • Conservation activities
  • Working Parties
  • Liaison with Waverley Borough Council on long term management strategies
  • Social events
The Friends of Farnham Park welcome anyone who wants to be informed and involved in the Park. For membership enquiries, please contact Judy Sauter on 01252 668813.

There is a new proposal to name several of the currently un-named features (fields/woods) in Farnham Park after local famous people. Click here for further details.

Farnham Park is a unique place:

A Historic Deer Park - one of the few still in the context of its original castle and associated buildings.

Evidence of occupation from the Middle Stone Age and the Roman occupation.

Important site for medieval 'ridge and furrow' field systems.

Civil War battle site - skirmishing associated with the siege of Basing House.

A site of Nature Conservation Importance and a Local Nature Reserve - it has many 'veteran trees' and the only 'chalk grassland' in Waverley Borough.

A centre for sport and recreation - Cricket, Football, Golf, Dog Walking or just enjoying the open air, and all just a a few minutes from the Town Centre.
