Rowledge were put in to bat on a difficult Binsted pitch and got off to a good start, with Laura Winstone hitting several fours, plus a six into the hedge over deep square leg. Unfortunately the unpredictable bounce of the pitch meant that several Rowledge batters were caught out as shots skied into the air. Rowledge at least batted out their overs, but nobody managed to get on top of the bowling.

In reply, the experienced Dukesmead players found scoring straightforward, even though the Rowledge bowling was good. The highlight in the field was a great low catch by Rachel Hillman as for once a Dukesmead opener mistimed a shot.
